Malaysia’s “Island of Eagles” — Langkawi
A holiday paradise on a tropical island
Langkawi's name comes from the old Malay language: "Lang" means eagle, and "Kawi" means red, so "Langkawi" means "Island of Red eagles." Such a name not only symbolizes strength, but also shows the unique charm of the island.
After arriving at the port, the first thing that catches your eye is the spectacular Eagle Square (Dataran Lang). The giant eagle statue flying high on the square is Langkawi's most representative landmark. It is about 108 kilometers from Penang Island to Langkawi, which is very convenient by boat or plane.
Langkawi consists of 99 islands and is famous for its white and delicate sandy beaches, turquoise waters and diverse resorts. It combines natural ecology, maritime activities and a comfortable and relaxing holiday atmosphere. It is an ideal place for travelers who love the sun and nature.
What is even more attractive is that Langkawi is a duty-free island in Malaysia. From perfumes, chocolate, alcohol to electronic products, prices are much more affordable than in urban areas. It is a paradise for shopping enthusiasts.
Sky Walk|Langkawi Sky Bridge

When you come to Langkawi, one of the most unmissable landmarks is the famous Sky Bridge. This floating trail that spans between the two mountain peaks has a total length of about 125 meters and is located at an altitude of 708 meters above sea level. It is known as "one of the most spectacular pedestrian bridges in the world."
Standing on the bridge, you can have a panoramic view of the magnificent scenery of Langkawi-the emerald rainforest, the azure sea, and the small islands dotted in the distance unfold like a picture scroll. When the weather is clear, you can even overlook the islands on the Thai border.
The Sky Bridge can be reached from the top of Gunung Mat Sincang Mountain. You need to take the famous Langkawi Cable Car.

The Langkawi cable car is the only way to the Sky Bridge and one of the most popular experiences on the island. The total length is about 2.2 kilometers, and it takes about 15 minutes to climb all the way from the foot of the mountain to the top of more than 700 meters.
During the ascent, you can enjoy the entire rainforest and the magnificent sea view. When the weather is clear, you can even see the shining blue sea between the islands, which is amazing. There is an observation deck, a cafe and a souvenir shop on the top of the mountain. It is a good place to take pictures and take a break.
