MyBatik Batik Workshop|Experience the artistic soul of Malaysia with your own hands
Batik-the cloth of Malaysia's national service
Batik is one of the most representative traditional handicrafts in Malaysia and a symbol of national service fabrics.
The colorful and varied Badibs not only show the artistic creativity of the Malay nation, but also are known as Malaysia's national treasure souvenirs and the essence of clothing culture. Whether it is at tourist attractions, markets, or fashion boutiques, you can see a variety of works inspired by Buddy, which are loved by tourists and locals.
MyBatik Batik Workshop|Experience the beauty of traditional craftsmanship with your own hands
If you want to learn more about batik culture, you may wish to experience it firsthand at the MyBatik Batik workshop in Kuala Lumpur.
It not only displays all kinds of traditional and modern Buddy works, but also provides hands-on production experience courses, allowing visitors to complete their own batik cloth.
In the workshop, you can learn how to use a special **batik pen (Tjanting)** and hot wax to draw, and feel the fineness and patience of traditional craftsmanship. The whole process from composition, waxing, anti-dyeing, dyeing to waxing, is personally guided by a professional instructor, whether it is an adult or a child can easily get started.
Batik production process|From hot wax to works of art in the sun
- Molten wax drawing:
Put the wax in a saucepan and heat it to melt, then use a "Tjanting" pen to outline the hot wax on the white cloth to form anti-dyeing lines. - Cold dyeing and coloring:
After the pattern is completed, soak the fabric in the cold dye for about 4 to 6 hours. In this step, cold dyeing must be used to avoid the melting of the wax layer and color penetration caused by hydrothermal fluid. - Dewaxing and showing lines:
The dyed fabric will be placed in boiling water to dissolve the wax layer and fall off, revealing the white lines previously covered by wax. - Wash and dry:
Finally, soak in water and dry in the sun, and your unique batik work will be done.
